Foundation of Sano Agricultural Institute, Mero Merkur

With Mero Merkur, the Sano Agricultural Institute, a leading reference farm for the whole of Europe has now come into being in Poland. Sano plans to establish a leading European farm with optimum performance in the field and stall. In the future, customers and farmers will be able to see the effectiveness of Sano nutritional concepts for themselves.

Sano’s most modern technologies and recipes for success are put into practice in the vast agricultural area of Mero Merkur. The Institute cultivates corn, sugarbeet, rapeseed, wheat and acres of grassland over 1,500 hectares. Mero Merkur already has its own successful cattle-breeding establishment and 30% of all A.I. bulls in Poland come from the Agricultural Institute. The cow herd produces considerably more than 10,000l milk/cow per year and is to be expanded to 2,000 cows.

Mero Merkur also represents pioneering research projects and attractive training opportunities. For this purpose, Sano has got intensive cooperation off the ground with renowned professors from universities and institutes in Germany, the EU and the USA. The results are made available for science, practical applications but above all, Sano customers. The Agricultural Institute also wants to set new standards in the spheres of further training and qualification, with a clear focus on education, training and further training for Sano specialist consultants, scientists, students, trainees, farmers, livestock technicians or vets.
